Tactical Gloves Review by Nutnfancy, Part 3
PART 3 of 3: Your hands are delicate. Seriously, it takes little to cut, knick, scrape, slice, gash, or abrade that pink fleshy thing you call a hand. Therefore in tactical operations gloves make a lot of sense. Whether you are a cop, pilot, soldier, or civilian sheepdog, you can benefit from glove wearing. They protect your hands, keep them warmer for better dexterity, often give you a better grip, and provide better grasping stamina. This three part series covers several Damascus Gear and Hatch brand tactical glove models. As I cover their features, I also weave in my own glove experiences, preferences, and Philosophy of Use ie the features and considerations that might make your glove purchase useful in your operations. There are MANY good tactical gloves out there and this series in no way attempts to cover even a fraction of them. Instead I cover some relatively HIGH VALUE tactical glove models sold by Skaggs Public Safety Uniforms and Equipment store (who hosted the review). Be careful not to overpay for your tactical gloves. Several high end models exceed $60 in price and offer no more capabilities, better fit, or durability than the models shown. Key features of a successful a general purpose tactical glove design include: trim and tight FIT (that provides reloading and writing-level dexterity), smooth palm, synthetic leather or suede construction (dries faster), reinforced and well-stitched finger tips, easy on/off, quick attachable and stable cuff, good …

@Glockffs dude, motocross gloves are superior to most tactical gloves. they provide great dexterity, incredible resistence, and great fit. and u dont snipe or hunt with gloves anyway (unless its pretty cold climate). i can already tell u dont shoot rifles too often. and who cares about colors, black is the worst camo anyway. the only disadvantage is price and sill they are cheaper than most “tactial” gloves.

Just bought a pair of “Interceptor X”
Love ‘em.

@CutleryNovice I own a pair of those. The biggest disadvantage would be that they don’t sustain warm inside. Tried wearing them in winter at -20 C. My hands almost froze out there… NOT RECOMMENDED IN COLD WEATHER ENVIRONMENT!

Only one gloves on this vid is good for shooting – its Hatch Operator. Good fit, palms and reinforces on the right places, nice sensitivity. Flame resistant of course cool feature too. I’ve already for two month searching for same gloves as here, and no results

Notice how all the well-fitting gloves are the ones with simple designs. I’m talking to you, glove makers.

Great glove overview! Thanks for the insight. Take a look at Youngstown Glove Company Tradesman Plus gloves. They allow for maximum dexterity, are light weight, synthetic, and breathable, all for around $15. They compete well with the Mechanix Originals, IMHO.

That’s the problem with ordering over the ‘net. You can’t try things, and when it comes to performance – looks don’t say anything at all. Neither do names.
Thanks for the review! I haven’t found better gloves than my 66 degrees north gloves. Best skiing gloves I have tried.

great vid Nutn’ I wish I woulda looked at it a few months ago for winter. But I did have a pair of hatch specialists and loved them. They lasted about 2 years(2 winters), before they tore open. I used them for training krav maga on concrete bball court and for kettlebell workouts(LOTS of friction in the hand and base of the fingers). They tore open badly after the 2 years right at the worn down area at the base of my fingers.

Up here in Minnesota this time of year I wear Hatch Winter Specialist (NS430L) and they’re great gloves, fitting almost as well as the regular Specialist (NS430), which I use when it’s above freezing. No prob loading pistol mags with either one, despite the Winter Specialist having dual Thinsulate inner linings. I’m on my second pair of Winter Specialists now, but only because I lost the first pair—both models have held up well and I may very well buy a couple spare sets.

Believe it or not, I was just looking at Damascus gloves before I watched this video and the Stealth X had caught my eye, along with the unlined full-leather patrol gloves (which I have a pair of that no longer fit me). Then it occurred to me “hm, maybe Nutnfancy has reviewed some of these…” Sure enough, here we are: thanks for helping me make up my mind! After seeing them on an actual hand, those Stealth X do look really great!

I play a lot of field hockey (on astro turf) ur knuckles hit the ground and scrape…I have scars all over my hands and friction burns, as a defender your hands are always on the turf, I got a pair of neroprenes…WOO finally tight fit/no slip/good grip and safe hands I no longer cringe when i have to dive in knuckles first….BUT I need help nutnfancy!!! I need a new pair as they r 2 small, the problem was they got clamy and held sweat=moist hands…but kept hands warm (NOT FINGER TIPS)
